Hi,
Every time i left click or right click a folder, it doesnt open it straight away.
It pauses for up to 4 to 5 seconds, then opens it, or allows me to rename it,
etc.
Do you know why this delay?, and how to remove it?
I am using a Laptop of type HP Probook 450 15.6 inch G10 Notebook PC.

I am using windows 11 Pro

Forgive me for asking but don't you already have an account here? That member name sounds so familiar.

How old is this laptop? How much crap is loading at bootup?

At worse case, it's 8 years old (the machine was released in 2016).

According to HP, the model originally came with either a mechanical drive (500, 1TB, or 2TB) or a 256GB M.2 SSD, as well as only Windows 10 drivers (not that it wouldn't make a difference, just for reference). The machine can support up to 16GB of memory

I would agree that the first reaction is how much is running in the background. Also, how much memory do you have installed, if possible, what is the serial number of the machine? (this will show us what HP as reported that is in the system. No personal information is shown)

Do you see any other slowness other than the File Explorer?
