Laptop Help Please.

I need to pick up a new laptop and need it by the weekend, mine just died and have an event I really need it by Monday 8/6/07.

I am not a gamer, I am a photographer who runs multiple programs at the same time, Photoshop, and other programs that gobble up processer and memory are run a lot.

I also will download and upload files to a network.

I want to stay in the $1000.00 - $1300.00 range if at all possible.

What do you sugest and where do you sugest I purchase them from?

looks like youre in a pinch. i suggest at least a 1.8 dual core, 2gb ram, and 120+ HDD. that should do you well with running photoshop and stuff. normally i would stay buy straight from HP, but under your time constraints, i would say go to your local Best Buy. anyhow, this DV9428nr from bestbuy.com should suit your needs and price range well.
