i got a dell latitude XPi p133st and a friend had it and didn't want it anymore so i took it, and i need to reformat it but i dont have any OS's on floppys and it dosent have a cd deck...so i borrowed a Backpack cdrw 32x10x40/parallel/USB2 and i need a driver for it because the laptop doesn't reconize it.....i cant find any drivers that will run in dos...that is all my compt will run in till i reformat

does any one noe were i can find a driver that will run in dos and is small enough to fit on a floppy will be??

Are there even any dos USB drivers for that machine? See, not only do you need dos USB drivers but USB CD ROM drivers as well.

As for the parallel port driver, I have never heard of one with both USB2 and parallel. I'd look for them on Driverguide, but just remember, Parallel is SUPER SLOW, and installing most anything will take AGES! Though with USB1.1, you'll only get about 6x speeds.
 
u may try to take out the hdd frm the system, format it on any other system and install OS, but dont install any drivers. Do ur have the drivers CD, if not then 1st d/l them frm DEll/support website.
Once u got OS, i assume WIN XP, then ur USB CD with be recognise n may install anything there after.
