I believe he's talking about a physical lock, so no one can easily steal it, but i'm not sure.Not so familiar with Macs, but I believe you should be able to set a BIOS and/or hard drive password by accessing the BIOS settings when you boot the laptop. A BIOS password is only resettable by dissembling the laptop, and a hard drive lock is nearly impossible to get around even with fairly advanced computer knowledge, but most laptops I've messed with don't have that option. I would set whatever passwords you can from the BIOS, and set a password to boot the OS.
