laptop memory not reading correctly?

I just installed a 512 chip to accompany the 512 that came with my laptop. The system info should read as 1024 right? Instead it reads as 0.99GB! Is this anything to worry about or is it close enough...

That's nothing to worry about. Your laptop probably has onboard video and the memory is shared with that.

Yup, nothing to worry about. Oddly and funny enough, that was my very first question and post that I asked when I first signed up for this forum.

Thats fine, as computerhakk said its because you have integrated video, which shared the system RAM.
