my friends laptop's mobo recently died. im pretty sure you cant replace a laptop mobo, but i just need confirmation. their only option is to replace it, right?
Well, you can't really fix a mobo, so if it's dead, then yes the only option is to replace it. The problem with laptops though, is that because motherboards are unique to that model of laptop, the replacements generally cost about as much as the entire laptop is worth, if not more. In most cases, it generally better to just part out the laptop and get a new one.
