laptop opinions

My friend is going to be heading to college in the fall and wants to find a good reliable laptop for a decent price. Another of my friends was browsing newegg and found one to suggest and i agree that it's pretty nice and fairly cheap. Doesn't sound like a bad laptop. I would like to get a newer laptop for school too. This old sony that I got from my sister works, but I could do better I know.

also not to sure about gateway... best to go with HP, Acer....

ya i would agree. those other two are too expensive. he is looking for something that is fairly cheap but that will work for atleast probably five years. thanks everyone.
