Hello people,

Okay so im looking for a Laptop or either a Netbook from a Uk supplier.

My max budget is £300,The cheaper the better and would prefer a Laptop but i doubt i would get one that cheap.

I dont need anything powerfull at all,Il consider anything.

I would like it to have at least 512mb of ram,60-80gb hard drive, dvd drive.

I dont need an OS,usualy cheaper lappys or netbooks come with Linux but i will wipe that anyway i have another os planned for it.

So yeah if any members from the Uk can reccomend me some good ones that would be fab.

thanks :) :good:

As always I suggest the 900HA. Cheap, has double the specs your looking for, and an awesomely portable size to boot. They're $299 US, so I'm sure you can find one for under 300 pounds. I don't know any UK suppliers...

Oops, I'm not in the UK

Not quite as nice as the 900HA in terms of looks/size, but I couldn't find the 900HA on any UK sites.

Upgrading should be easy enough.

Never heard of Darwin..

The last Fujitsu you posted looks good for the price. Fujitsu's a good brand too.

That sucks...Well the little Toshiba is still a nice option. See how much a stick of 2gb (or 1gb if you think it should be suffient). You should still be under your budget of 300 pounds

Like your Kevin Smith avatar btw. He's a cool guy.

Sounds like your planning on running a certain fruity o/s!

I can't really tell you anything about it as it is illegal but I can tell you that the trick to installing anything not standard (e.g. linux) then it is important to find out if the hardware is compatible. Google is your friend here.

I have heard the Dell Mini 9 would be a good choice.

It's an excellent netbook but with your illicit activities then the question you need to be asking is 'is it compatible?' and google's your best bet for finding the answer. My suggestion on the previous post has been known to work.

The Dell Mini 9 looks promising,

i looked on their site and the one with 4gb SSD is £199,and the 16gb version is £229...so i might go with the 16gb version.

Space is not realy an issue, all i want to install is the os obvius and firefox.....that will be it.

strictly for Internet use :)
