I want to upgrade my Toshiba Satellite A105-S4274 operating system from windows xp to windows vista.
Do i need to get a windows vista disc for my specific toshiba model or can i just use any copy of it?

You just need to make sure that your laptop supports everything and there are drivers. Then you just need to get a cd. They don't make specific ones for specific laptops. But vista is one of the worst OS's. I would recommend Windows 7.

Your Laptop is compatible, and as you can see they have almost the same requirements. :D

Win 7 is actually less resource intensive than Vista so a given machine has a better chance of being able to run Win 7. Vista and Win 7 drivers are interchangeable so if you can't find a specific Win 7 driver for your laptop you can use a Vista driver in its place.

I've installed Win7 on laptops that were absolute trash.

less than 512mb ram, crappy onboard graphics, 60GB hdd,

it will work...better than vista,,,i guarantee
