Laptop problem - fan

Ok so I don't even have a program opened up and my laptops fan constantly is on high... It is ridiculous. It's like my fan just set itself on high speed and just wants to stay there even though I have nothing opened. This happened before but I restarted the computer and it was fine. But now I restarted it several times and I still have the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks

I can undervolt my laptop so the fan doesn't have to come on all the time. I use rightmark cpu clock utility. I don't know if your laptop will allow you to undervolt.

Or

Buy a cooling pad.

i would check your bios for the speed settings on the fan
put it on something like automatic
or just lower the voltage like another said but you'd have to watch your temp then

My fan has been running too often also. It seems like every time I try to do two things at once my laptop gets all stressed out and the fan is its way of saying it only wants to do one thing at a time.

this may be the old-fashioned way...but i works

get a can of airdust spray and spray into the fan (while the laptop is off)... it should blow out a cacaphony of dust and other debris that your computer has sucked in over the lifetime of the laptop

cleaning out this excess debris is one of the simplest solutions on solve the fan noise problem
