Help my laptop freezes. LIke all of a sudden it freezes and wont turn off even if i press the plug. I must hold the on/off button for like 15 seconds. And than when i restart it the sound is gone. It doesnt work not even volume control or it freezes when it starts. It freezes if type too fast or move suddenly or tap it. It froze when i was making this thread so i gad to rewrite it. And it always does disk checking for consistency. Help when its normal its ok but when it freezes or there is no sound.

The other laptop is normal except it turns itself off because it overheats. THe cpu fan is broken or something but i dont know how to change or fix it. And whats the price. It turned itself off yestrday saying battery was out and turned itself off. ANd hasnt turned on yet. The light where it is green is orange. ANd when i turn it on it says failure to turn on try again or something. SO i must press the on/off button again to move out. Oh yeah the sound on it works but on certain players like real player and windows media its very echoy and bad. Vlc media works perfectly the sound and winamp is ok.

If you can help thanks.

it sounds like you're having a lot of problems on your system; the fan issue and the movement issue being the most severe.
It sounds like something has worked loose and that the electrical contact is being lost and that causes the comp to shut down. In order to fix this the unit needs to be opened and inspected. I would say that new parts are definately in order for this system.
also fans tend to draw in dust and over time this will accumulate in the heatsink grille and the fan will be spinning constantly but wont be doing anything because its full of dust. This will need cleaning to sort it out
The sound problem you mention can be fixed simply by doing a system restore

How do you clean the fan. And how do you do a system restore. Sorry im not really good with laptops/computers. Thanks

you should have a set of disks that came with the system that will allow you to perform a system restore; i'm not sure exactly how you would go about this because its usually a little different depending on the manufacturer of the laptop.
Clean out the fan is a bit different because it depends on how the laptop is constructed; some will have a hatch that will allow you to access the fan and remove the dirt with compressed air or or a small brush. On some systems you will have to physically remove parts of the casing from the unit to get at it. Either way compressed air is probably your best bet and if you cant get at the fan easily you could try blowing some compressed air into the vents and see if that clears out any dirt
