Laptop Problem

well i have had my advent laptop not sure of the model i could find out if needed for roughly 2 years runs smoothly up until very recently i would get on with my business playing online games etc. then all of a sudden the laptop would just completely turn off i though this was due to overheating so i checked about and sure enough it wasnt even hot so i am wondering what could this be caused by

It could be static electricity, because i know my laptop freezes/reboots sometimes when i touch it. It is winter, so it's cold and dry.

just because it isn't hot doesn't mean that it isn't overheating.

What are you doing when it shuts off? Is it plugged into AC power? If so, it could be microsurges

i am sorry about not being computer literate well i do know a bit but not lots and yes it is plugged into liteon ac adapter
