OK, first don't start saying "Oh, you can't upgrade the processor, blah blah blah..." I have opened my Averatec and found the processor to be quite removable
But now, here's the question...
I recently found out my processor APPEARS to be the desktop replacement version of the Sempron, NOT the low wattage version. On ebay, I found a Sempron 3000 that appears to be the low wattage version. So, do you guys see any reason not to try this little upgrade? It's going for pretty cheap now(should be under $30 shipped) and hopfully will improve my battery life and heat problem...
I have read some info on another version of this laptop which can apparently take up to a Sempron 3300, so that much shouldn't be a problem...
Any insight, experiences, etc?
