can anyone help coz my laptop screen is waaay to bright and its killing my eyes lol... i have a dell inspiron 6000 and they only thing u can do is adjust the brightness via a keyboard shortcut, but if u dim the brightness it goes a horrible browney colour which also doesnt agree with my eyes  i cant seem to find any way to play around with the contrast/colour temperature and all those other things u can fiddle with on desktop monitors... i know im being fussy but its annoying me and trying to write essays on this thing hurts lol

You can go into "display properties", click the Settings tab, click Advanced. In there you will see options for "color" you can change your contrast and tint to your liking. :D

there should also be a brightness and contrast on your keyboard. You can access it by using the blue function key, it is a key combo of the function key and a seperate key or a blue emblem on another key that will have the sun or a circle half filled in. By holding down the function key and tapping the other key the contrast will go up or down or brightness.

the function key might be FN on the keytop

laptop extreme- would you mind posting a screen shot of what u mean ?? im assuming u mean the display properties in the control panel which ive opened up and have looked under every option i cant find anything that allows u to adjust colour, unless im going totally blind !

tractorboy- thanks but i did say already that i can change the brightness using the keyboard shortcut :)

I'm sorry, it also depends on your video card. I've got an ATI, the advanced settings have a tab titled "Color" and there you can make your own profile. What video card do you have?

ok well according to the device manager my video card is mobile intel(R) 915 GM/GMS,910 GML express chipset family

Try launch manager download

I don´t know if your laptop has a launch manager feature. Most do. It usually is available on the discs they give you with a shiny brand new dell pc. sometimes there is a display feature within that program that allows you to adjust the colour and brightness of your display more acurately than your standard control panel feature. Check to see if this is installed. That´s what´s installed on mine anyway.

man i have looked eeeverywhere, i give up, if its that well hidden they obviously dont want u to fiddle with it FFS lol, not to worry then
