Laptop screen - frozen/weird display?

Hey,
This issue with my Compaq Presario V6000 has been happening for quite a while now, originally, the screen would occasionally distort and I would apply pressure to the top right hand corner and the screen would be restored, but now, no matter how much pressure I apply, the screen looks like this:

I've tried everything and I'm guessing it's a hardware malfunction... does anybody have any idea as to what the problem is and how it can be resolved?

Looks like a faulty wire of some sort. Frankly, there really anything you can do to fix it yourself. You'll probably have to send it back to HP for them to fix it.
