Laptop screen

So I've been having some problems with my laptop's screen. I'm pretty sure it's a connection between the motherboard in the laptop.

Often times it will shift the entire image downward so that it is not only stretched, but the Start menu bar is not visible.

Is this easy and/or cheap to fix? If not, how much do you think it would cost?

99% of laptop screen problems can be traced to either an LCD inverter or flex cable. Flex cables are usually only a few bucks, but inverters are hit-or-miss. What model laptop?

Sorry for the delay - it's been a long day. Here is an inverter for your system (though I probably wouldn't buy this particular listing):http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-Pavilion-dv8...1720627QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116
And I couldn't find a flex cable for your system (it might not have one - I've never had to open one of those), here are some examples of what they look like so you know what to look for:http://computers.shop.ebay.com/item...12el1313QQ_sacatZ158885QQ_trksidZm270Q2el1313

Again, it's not 100% that one of those is the definite problem, but almost every quirky screen problem is a direct result of one of the two.

No worries on the delay, I was out of town anyway. Thanks for the help and the link. I really hope it is just a flex cable.

Thanks again!
