Hi - ive tried fixing this one dead or stuck pixel on my new laptop through tapping some...restarting with pressure..and Jscreen, but nothing happens..it's a sony vaio btw. I actually can only do the sales transaction through the mail - should i send it back and hopefully get one with no stuck pixels or just live with it and hope it goes away?
Any suggestions appreciated

well i contacted the company and they said that one dead pixel is normal for lcd screens, but that if more appear i can send it in to get replaced or repaired..do most companies have this policy?

if its a dead pixel sorry nothing you can do about it and never heard of a stuck pixel lol

Correct a dead pixel is dead, but a stuck pixel can sometimes be cured.
Dead pixels (always off) usually seen against a white background.
Stuck pixels (one or two sub-pixels are always on or always off). If they are on they are usually coloured.

Yes all companies have this policy unless guaranteed against it.

Yes i've heard this and thought was a stuck pixel because it's red and only shows up on dark backgrounds, but both Jscreen and tapping it havn't worked :(
-it's bright red almost like a laser pointer..any other methods for stuck pixels i might not have mentioned?

I doubt it, you've tried all the usual methods of tapping, pressure and rubbing. If that hasn't worked then ......

also, i don't know how running a video over the spot should unstick it (seems like if this did something you should worry more about the safety of your comp); same with tapping it

Running a video won't do anything. You want to run a buncha colors very quickly. There was this batch script you could copy and make a bunch of colors flash... it's on the Internet somewhere.
