Laptop style Desktop build

Hi,

I registered to ask this question. I have built a couple of desktops in the past, but I wanted to know if there were parts available to do what I want. Basically I want to build a laptop without the keyboard, mouse, and monitor. It would be a low power desktop with a built in UPS. Like a Mac mini with a battery.

Thee are small form factor bare bones kits like the shuttle pcs that sound similar to what you want to do.look into those.

I have seen nano-ITX builds put into small UPS cases... you might be able to squeeze one into a roomier UPS case with components still in-- you'd have to open an UPS unit to see if it is possible...

I don't think a UPS will have a pin connector for a motherboard, right? Basically I would need ~100W power supply with built in UPS (does anybody make those?).

Also I would need a mobile processor. Who sells those? Cause newegg selection is very limited.

Maybe a better idea would be to go to a used computer shop and buy a bare bone laptop and upgrade it?
