I have a sony vaio sz230 laptop with a nvidia geforce go 7400 graphics card and has only a VGA output. I purchased VGA to Component Cables and plugged the VGA into the computer and the red, blue, green cables into my sylvania HDTV, I put the TV to the correct video input but nothing happens when i try to display my laptop sceen on the TV. how can I resolve this issue?

I think on either the f4 or f5 key there should be a little icon that looks like a box inside another box. Use the Fn key and whatever f key has that to send the image. Or right click desktop>preferences and go to the tab where you can change what monitor to use.

Try Fn key with F7. That is how it is for my laptop.
