Laptop vs. Desktop

They both have pros and cons, everyone preference is different anyways since some might travel a lot, while others are always in a fixed spot.

For me, I have both a desktop and a laptop.

Same here, I need both!

All depends on what you need, do with your machines, your job...etc..

Obviously, a laptop is easily moved/portable...few/no wires

a desktop/pc...not as easy!! several wires!

I have to agree and say that I think it's nice to have both a desktop and a laptop. That way, you have the ability to travel or work remotely.

Laptop - Nice portable, able to take it anyway, anytime. Not upgradable for some parts, less cables

Desktop - Upgradable, faster, requires lots of cables

That is my point of view anyway.

I like both, desktop is good for when i'm in my room, but when i want to go down stairs and do something and use the net, i like having the laptop.

Real difference between a desktop and a laptop is laptop was meant to go anywhere while a desktop was meant to be stationary unless you are planning to bring it around.

Laptops(good)
-are portible
-like an all in one tool
-can be upgraded like a desktop
-no cables required unless USB, etc
(BAD)
- when i said upgrades, in my knowledge is like a wireless adapter, mouse, ram, cd drive etc.) But you cant put as much as a desktop.
-of course you have battery life
-pricey
-can overheat if you place the laptop on your lap
-when upgrading, some upgrades need to be placed inside the laptop needing you to open the exterior.
-because its not staionary like the desktop, its easy to lose or get stolen
-and the list goes on

Desktop(good)
-faster
-more secure because its usually in one spot
-more upgrades
-cheaper depending on the computer

(BAD)
-some computers can be a space hoger
-obviously not as portible as the laptop
-cables

this is from my knowledge
