Hi guys,
I am running widows vista on an HP laptop, and I today I installed the free version of AVG from CNet today. I started running the scan and I stopped it before it finished.

Now my internet connection wont work. I can connect to my wireless network but it says I have a limited connection and it wont allow an internet connection.

I've tried resetting my TCP/IP connections through command prompt and I also completely uninstalled AVG. I've restarted a bunch of times and I am still unable to get this one laptop in the house to connect to the internet.

Maybe it blocked a port or something? Any ideas of how I should proceed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

thats odd... Dont think the cause is avg... from home your just running a normal home network? have you tried disabling the the avg? Try running spybot and see if the problem goes away..... how long were you on the internet before you download avg? sorry for all the questions but they will help me to help you :)

I would just reinstall AVG from their website (http://free.avg.com/) and try running the scan again. It might have caused something to lock up if the scan stopped in the middle.

Also, try and reinstall the drivers for your laptops wireless card. You might find them on one of the HP restore CD's somewhere, or in the restore program on the laptop. If not, tell us the model, and we can find what the wireless card is and point out where to get some drivers from.
