Laptop Wireless conectivity

Hi, i was given an lap top by a friend the problem is it will not find my wireless router. It finds every wireless router in the street but not mine. I know theres no problem with my router as every other device, ipad/ipod/iphone/psp/dsi all work perfectly well with it. I would be gratefull of any help you could give me

Check your router configuration and make sure its broadcasting its SSID(network name). Other than that, its possible the wrong wireless driver is installed or its corrupted.
