Hi there

I have recently purcahsed a new laptop and have an o2 wireless internet connection. I can easily get onto the internet with out a problem. However when i try to install new software or virus protection i am usually unsuccesfull as the program or software can not locate or detect my internet connection( i have now tried this with avg ,norton and microsoft office) and all get to the final stage and either an error message comes up saying the program cant locate my connection or it just leaves it hanging on the last screen. I have looked on the internet and cant see any answers, and presume it wont be an issue 02 will help as my internet works fine. Was wondering whether anyone could help me find the solution.

Many Thanks

Rob

I don't know why but have seen this before. Start your internet service then minimize then install and see what it does.

Thnaks for replying, but have already tried this but has the same outcome. Was thinking it may be a setting on the laptop that needs to be changed

try turning off your firewall.

Do ya have any proggys running in the backround that may be stopping it.
Maybe spyware or something else?

Thanks alot of for that.

It seems i had the Microsoft Firewall on, so took it off through control panel and all programs/software can detect my connection.

Thanks again for the advice
