Laptop with 44 threats

Yes I can access it, and this a Dell Laptop. I still have the windows 7 cd's that I used on my gaming pc, could I use those. What should I do, because its needs 300mb of space to do a system restore, and I'm pretty sure that windows is booting from the recovery lol. The owner told me I could wipe everything, but every time I try to format the recovery drive it tells me it contains the version of windows that you are using.

Thats because you are trying to wipe it while inside windows and you can't do that. As long as you have the same version of windows 7 that the laptop has then yes you can use the cd but you have to use the key that is on the bottom of the laptop or use keyfinding software to retrieve the key before reinstalling windows as sometimes the label with the key is unreadable. Use magic jellybean keyfinder.

Ok I got it working I'm putting chrome on there with adblock and antivirus, anything else I should put on there so this doesn't happen again? Thanks guys!

I got avast for it, now how can i wipe the recovery drive? Its not booting from recovery, but every time I choose to format i. It says it can't complete the format. I'm still getting a low disk space notification, and having the two options on how I want to boot windows.

I didn't know you reinstalled it already. When you reinstalled, you need to delete all existing partitions first, then install windows.

Or you can download and create a bootable cd of killdisk or dban to totally wipe the drive first.

I just chose the option that lets you wipe everything before installing windows is that ok? Everything is working now expect for the recovery drive, I'd like to wipe it and put a fresh back up in there. and I removed the second windows through easybcd

You don't need the recovery drive if you have a way to reinstall windows without all the bloatware that comes preinstalled. Did you use a windows 7 install dvd or the recovery partition?
