I realize that my laptop works pluging it into the oulet without carrying the battery , but is it recomendable to operate the laptop without the battery, will a current surge cause any damage to it..Any advice is most welcome...Thanx

I doubt very much that a surge would damage it as your power brick is probably what would fry first because it's the device that is stepping the voltage down to the point where your laptop can handle it. It doesn't really hurt anything to run your laptop with out the battery, typically it shouldn't cause any problems to run your laptop with the battery in either.

It should be fine. If the computer can run without batteries, the electricity will probably not even pass through the battery even if you have it, thus a surge will do the same damage to the computer with or without the battery.

On another note, the only downside I can think of is that the computer will has a hole in it now =P.

I'd say it would even be better, as you don't have the battery partially charging all the time.

Yeah and some notebooks, like mine which is a stupid hybrid have a battery that acts kind of as a kick stand so it makes the notebook sit up higher in the back, nothing annoys me more than a keyboard that isn't flat. the nice thing is though, if you take the battery off it doesn't leave a hole. http://www.tabletpcreview.com/assets/1676.jpg
