i recently un-installed norton from my new laptop because the subscription expired. apon doing so as soon as i rebooted i could no longer get an ip from my modem not from either ethernet nor wireless. when doing ipconfig i have a mask ip and subnet but not default. when i tell my laptop do get an ip automatikly it wont and i dont know how to set the wireless card to connect to a certin ip. i am running vista and when i talked to my verizon costomer service they told me i would have to replace the net card but my net card is running just fine acording to hardwere manager and sees no problems with it. plus i dont want to go to bestbuy and have some underqualified geek squade kid mess around with my laptop. if any one knows anything i could do to fix my problem please help.

Try to uninstall the network card driver under the device manager? Im wondering if that will bring it back to default settings and it might work...
