Laptop won't startup properly

It's hard diagnose hardware problems on laptops (not as easy to unplug stuff). Can buy a new stick of ram, something small and cheap of course, and see where it leads ya. But I'm thinking a bad motherboard cause it's not wanting to boot from a CD/DVD.

yeh cuz i never seen stuff like this...the screen does not even turn on at all...i mean even connecting through a VGA to the desktop monitor still nothing...so that helps me conclude the screen is probably not damaged

yeh it appears so too...but right now i need to know where to buy the mobo...or psu...

i know you can buy the ram anywhere

Should be able to get one from newegg.com, but how would a person know what he's running?? I'm not sure how to go about tearing one down.

Well if you wanted to, there's always EBAY. Always someone selling laptops cheap (can get one for parts). Or buy a new one, and have a warranty.

well i have enough pcs and laptops...i want to gain more experience since im an engineer/IT student...

fixing this will definitely boost up my exp
