Laptops in Education

Was wondering if someone can give me a start on some laptop advice. I'm very good with desktops but no clue when it comes to laptops :(
basically we would like to use these laptops in an education setting (students in grade 6-9) using basic programs such as MS Office / Open Office / Gimp / a number of educational programs and the internet over a network. Wireless (bluetooth) capabilities is a must.

i know dell, toshiba, HP and sony make a bunch of laptops but am not sure where to start looking. personally i'm an AMD fan but am also needing to balance money with practicality.

also am looking at some tablet PC's. any recommendations there?

i was hoping you just mispoke and just needed wireless internet.

none of the budget laptops i looked at while shopping for one had bluetooth built in.

you can get a bluetooth usb dongle and plug it into a usb port, tho

they only cost ~$20 and look just like a usb flash drive

if you're like me, tho, you want everything internal, tho, and i can't help you.

i cringe at laptops with peripherals hanging out. Definitely hampers the portability

a lot of laptops have Bluetooth built in, you just need to look in the right place :D
most, if not all fairly decent laptops have wireless built in and if you're using it for MS Word etc.. it doesn't really matter what processor make you have, it wouldn't make too much of a difference really.
