Last check before I buy?

Alright,

After a fair bit of research, here is what I've come up with.

Just a few questions - Do I need anything else for 3D? Apart from the Monitor, Glasses, Video Card?

Pretty good build I think :) Gonna take a while to pay off!

All looks fine, but you may want a bigger SSD. I've got this 128GB M4 in my PC and it's very fast and it is big enough, I'd recommend it. :) http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=17685

You may wanna get another 8GB of RAM to make 16GB if you're going to be do modelling/rendering. See if you can get a 16GB (4x4GB) kit of the RAM you linked to above.

Hmm I was actually just planning on putting Windows and games and so forth on the SSD. I can always upgrade!

8GB probably ok, if I find I'm using a lot of it, I'll buy more.

Looks fine. Just install your 'must play' games on the SSD and J-junction the rest.

Thanks fOr your feedback
I saw the Corsair Force 3 - and it's pretty fast. 128GB of that will be good I think.

Just one thing - my mb only has two sata 3 ports- can a blueray (cd) drive use that kind of bandwidth?

You will have to sacrifice something. Either put only the OS and one/two games on the SSD or get a bigger SSD.

Just to point out a thing, the OP seems to going for a gaming build only. If this is true then getting 3570K would save 100$ for OS/Big SSD.

for 3 bucks it's faster

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=210_344&products_id=19747

since you've got a ssd boot drive, i'd save a few and opt for a slightly slower but twice as large hard drive for 20 less.

this one is basically the same thing, it actually has slightly less power, but still plenty, but is for more modular, the other only has like 2 modular cables, this has a lot, look at the pics.

Go with jonnyps build, this ^ ram for double the memory, $10 more, and get a i5 3570k, noit a i7 for gaming, there is no difference.

What do you mean by 'double the memory'? Aren't both models 8GB?

I'm going for i7... I'm going to be doing a little video editing (blender) etc - and 8 virtual cores couldn't hurt.

As for SSD - Windows is around 10GB. I'm going to install probably 2 virtual systems also - there's 30GB. Now I've got still nearly 100GB for my favourite games.

My uncle recommended more to me!!

For Windows and several big programs and lots of games, 120GB is a minimum IMO. If you're just using Windows and a few programs, 60GB will be fine. You can always install your games and other programs onto an HDD anyway, you just won't get the SSD performance.

The thing is you dont need SSD performance in gaming. The return on investment is poor. YOu're better off getting 2TB drives and RAIDing them and use the smaller SSD for Win and apps.
