so I'm trying to figure out what if any in need to upgrade to for my recording studio.
I run Reaper as my DAW which is super generous in its need for processing power, however some of the plugins, VST, instruments, require a tone f power .i have a great console that can and does handle a lot of the necessary power.

Currently have an intel i7 with ddr3 (can't remember any other specs, and an i5 with ddrc. Both love added cpus. My friends dad has a computer shop so I let him build me these for the office of my other company.
I have an old (mid 2009) , MacBook Pro which I put an sad new battery had it wiped lean and maxed the ram - runs great.

So anyway I need a desktop, or really just the tower

I don't know how to measure clock or processor speed with a CPU that has ddr3 and another that has ddr4

So I am going to list a couple if anyone could tell me what they think.

I have a couple acer 27 or 33 touch display,

Lenovo ThinkCentre SFF M700 Intel Quad Core i7-6700, 16GB RAM, 500GB Solid State Drive, Win7Pro Desktop Computer, processor speed 2.7, integrated graphics, win 7

889.95 - plus tax

Elite 8200 SFF high performance intel quad 7, processsor 3.4 turbo up the 3.8, 2 TB HDD 16 GG of ddr3
$359. Deliverd!! No tax no .feufgr charge

Is this didfer nc e in price really worth it? Will it run that much better in. My studio? I mean I. Running reaper not pro tools, and I have quite a bit of outboard gear that all has DSP power. I know it's ddr3 but the processor is way faster. And the
Price diffenc ng t m half way to the last mic I wanted for my mic looker.

Thanks I hope this makes sense I took my sleeping pill and tried to get this tx In b4 I got looped. Well I'm looped.

Would love an answer if anyone knows how to compare these types of cpus and how the benefit of the ddr4 ram compare to the ddr3 with higher speed process

Thank you

The cheap one is almost 6 years old, but performance hasn't changed much. Mostly power consumption.
The expensive one has a 500GB SSD, which is great. But you could add a 240GB SSD to the cheap one and take use of the 2TB hard drive space it has.
With a little tinkering the cheap one can be nearly as good, and still half the price.

Yes I was thinking that same thing.

But the dual, monitor display of the first one is big and actually the new wifi protocol for some reason I think that is going to be important with the way I network within the studio etc. not sure why but I was reading a while back and my gut is telling me there is a reason I just don't remember what it is.

But how much is. A 240gb SSD..
Idk

Which one should I get.
