So I ordered everything last night, and I just have a few more questrions.

1. I bought a network card that goes in a PCI x1 slot, so will it work out of the box, and do I need wifi to install windows?

2. My PSU only has a 4 pin connector for the cpu, but my mobo needs an 8 pin. I bought an 4 pin to 8 pin connector, but some people said I shouldnt overclock too much. Thats kind of a bummer, since I bought a pricey mobo to overclock. My PSU is only 460 watts

Not to install but you need internet to activate it. So you will be using wireless instead of being hooked up via an ethernet cable?

FYI - It's best to keep asking questions in the same thread that way everybody knows what your current setup is. You have too many threads going.

And technically you should get a psu that has an 8 pin connector.

Did you buy a wireless network card? Desktops come with an ethernet port. You do not need a network connection to install Windows, but in order to activate it you will.

1) What network card did you get? It may or may not work out of the box on Windows depending on the chipset used on the card.

2) The G3258 likely doesn't pull enough power to notice a difference. Also, a 4 pin adapter can fit on the side of an 8 pin socket.

I noticed your other thread said H81 motherboard, is this still the case? Those aren't particularly geared to overclocking. Also, they are based on the older chipset so you may or may not have issues POSTing with that CPU as opposed to an H91 board or similar.

Thanks for the tips guys, the motherboard that I ended up with is the Gigabyte Z97X SLI, it had good reviews and I heard the g3258 could be over clocked well on it. Network card is ASUS PCE-N10 Wireless Adapter. I can start it up first boot on Ethernet, but I need WiFi for daily use. Im not overcloxking till I get a proper CPU cooler and more case fans and a proper PSU, probably around Christmas, so do I just plug the four pin into the side of the 8 pin?
