Just so everyone is aware memory and hard drive costs have gone up big time. Also the availability of intel 17th Gen motherboards and processors are getting bad. Definitely not the time to building any new pcs right now.

From what I've heard its even the mechanical drives but definitely nvme and memory has gone up. Ddr5 some have almost tripled. From what I understand its because of all the data centers buying it up so availability is bad

Oh god... yeah I just checked the ram I had is out of stock, but the price doubled for similar types that are slower with higher timing.

Oof.

These were $82.99 a year ago tomorrow and they are now $229.99, thats almost triple.

DDR4 16gb kit has almost doubled. Guess I won't be building any of my clients cheap systems for awhile. This just increased total by almost $100 for the cheapest system I build. And now with Intel going slot 1851 Motherboards and cpu's are more expensive.

I think this will be a trend every year from now on where suddenly parts will become stupidly expensive, Graphics cards (Mainly Nvidia) never really recovered from this Imo, And while they have dropped a little they're still too expensive for what performance they give.

I'm glad i literally purchased my 64GB DDR5 6000 Kit a few months ago now and paid "Normal" price for.

I remember a dram squeeze like this about a decade ago, always seems to be artificially generated shortages and then market flooding with capacity.

that rings a bell... i mean this is the 2nd time ram has been squeezed like this in the past like 5 years.

Remember when that WD plant burnt down in Asia and sent mech drives through the roof for like 6 months? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
