Laugh at my computer

I hate the computer I'm using... it is so crappy. I've only put a few things on it, AIM and Firefox, and it's starting to lag. I have to close out of AIM to actually get Firefox to move relatively fast. And I'm using Comcast High Speed!

This computer is a Windows Millenium Edition (the worst of all windows, if this is how millenium computers are supposed to work, kill me now) and it's a Compaq. I hate it so much, I want XP!

If you name some specs (detailed) then perhaps we can all have a scout rund in online stores for some real cheap deals on upgrades. cos it doesnt sound like a new machine, so it shouldnt be too expensive.

Model number, amount of RAM, processor type and speed would be great for a start, Kaabi. I'll bet it's newer and faster than my backup Win95/Pentium I box! Nothing to laugh at. Relax. :D

That will kill it more. Throw 98se ot 98lite on it. Possibly even 2000. My old K6 server with 128 meg of ram is running 2k just fine....although it only serves as an FTP server and mp3 player for my surround system.

Reminds me when I used to suffer on my Pentium 3, 288mb ram, Geforce 2 32mb video card lol. I used to take that thing to the limit.. playing GTA: San andreas, half life 2... etc. Actually ran them ok with just a few fps lag here and there. I was used to poor performance so i didn't mind it. Now that I got my new pc, and look back to my old one.. i always wondered how I handled that awful performance =P. Actually, took me a bit to get used to the smooth performance of my new PC :P

i had ME for a while. goodness gracious I hated that OS. I agree with the upgrade idea, i bet you can make a pretty big upgrade from that system for pretty cheap.

very first day on this site and so far i think i have the crappiest. that s why i'm here researching the Dell XPS 400.

i have a 1994 ( i think ) E machines E monster 500a 500 mhz win98. it has been a good one only crashed once about 2 months ago and hasnt been right since.

lol, thats not so bad, my dad INSISTS to use his 486 on dialup! its horrendus. takes about 40 minutes to start up. and about 5 minutes to load a page.

He seems to think that cause its so old, its immune to all the viruses..... =(
