Is Vista 64bit Home Premium worth getting for £60 - $120
Is there any problems with getting a 64Bit OS, especially Vista?
Is 2GB of RAM enough, 4GB overkill?
Is OC'ing with all RAM slots in use bad?

Thanks :D

No problems here either, im perfectly fine on 2gb's maybe for christmas or something ill upgrade to 4 but i have only seen it like 80-90% used during games...

Really? I only noticed like maybe half used, at most. I had 512MB of VRAM though, so that might be why.

Ok, so you're saying there's absolutely no problems with it at all?

I heard though that it doesn't perform as well when gaming, compared to XP?

I'm going to have it as the main OS, I'm not bothering keeping XP, I'll just do a clean install?

they say it doesnt perform well because vista uses more ram than xp.... thus if u are running xp at 200 megs with a game that takes 500 then u are only using 700.... but with vista, that takes up like 600-700 megs not including the 500 game, so instead of 700 u are now looking at like 1200-1300...

just depends on the game and how much ram u have really

1200???? god i neeeever pass more then 1100 and thats with WMP open, windows sidebar, oblivion maxed out, and prolly firefox open as well.

EDIT: with nothing running on my comp, i idle at a cool 480MB ram. and thats with antivirus on too.

Would it be a bad idea to have Vista as my only OS, and get rid of XP?

naysayers go away vista has given me FAR less problems then i had with xp. i never lock up, my processor feels like it is being used more efficiently, and it feels so much smoother then xp, windows faaaade out, alt-tab is 3-d, sidebar helps a load, and you can change the colors on all your windows. ill upload some :)

Depend on what you want from you rig, if you like the eye candy then yes. Since you dont have a dx10 card I cant see any advantage other than appreance

no

2gb is ok, if you have ram intensive apps then youll need more. eg ram intensive gaming

no problems

if you make the more i dont see why you would keep the old xp version as it just eats up space. It a question of whether you think you will need it or not. There arent really too many legacy issues with vista, not that im aware...but i still run XP :)
