LCD HDTV as a computer monitor

yeah the resolution that my comp picked up when i plugged in DVI-HDMI was 1920 x 1080 which is the exact res of a 1080p screen. every single resolution has overhang, and if its not an increment of HD, like 1920x1080 or 1280x768 the coloring is all fudged up. OHHHH yeahh is there any way to get 64-bit color option on my computer? i know it exists but do you have to have windows for 64 or do i just need a newer FX card?

You would need a 64-bit enabled OS. You can buy Windows XP Pro 64 Bit edition or you can wait for the new Windows Vista Beta in a few weeks which will be avaliable to download freely.

how is xp 64? i havent heard much, as i said, ive been out of the loop for about a year. i have been studyin my ass off

Its basically the same thing as Windows Xp except with 64-bit. I would suggest waiting for Vistas next beta and then installing it as a second OS and trying it out on your rig.

Quad-CPU's have not been confirmed yet. I don't expect them to be released for another year. I think you saw Intel Core 2 Duo....that just intels new Dual Core series.

well, im gonna start researching the 7950 gx2. any specific company? the asus model looked legit. in any case, once i get it installed ill let you know how it all turned out.
