LCD monitor making buzzing noise

Hi, I just bought a Hanns G 19 inch widescreen monitor not to long ago. Here lately I have noticed a buzzing noise coming from the monitor. It may or may not have been making this noise since I got it but I just now started noticing it.

Soon as I turn it on, the noise starts. The monitor has built in speakers and the noise is not coming from them. I turned the volume all the way down. That was the first thing I checked. I have the monitor hooked up through dvi. I may hook it up through vga. Do you think that would make a difference?

Does LCD monitors usually make a buzzing noise? Does anybody else's do this? Just trying to find out if this is normal or not. There is nothing wrong with the picture that I can see.

No they are quiet, CRT's put out a ringing noise like a TV. But, you have to have good hearing to hear it. I have heard of this before, check your refresh rate.

I have changed the refresh rate to all three options, 59 60 and 75, and did not change any. When the screen went black while it was changing, the noise stopped but started right back up when the picture came back.

LCD's don't use refresh rates, aside from perhaps converting the VGA output...

I recently was given an LCD and it buzzes. No, it's not normal as I've had many others that don't buzz :P My suggestion would be talk to the manufacturer and see about getting it replaced if it's still under warranty. It might be just fine, but you could never be too safe.

I did not install the software that came with the monitor. That wouldn't make a difference would it?

Yeah, buzzing noise could be annoying. And it's not normal, LCD will not make any noise. Maybe the noise comes from the built-in fluorescent light (that makes the display lit up).

I think it may be getting to hot because last night I turned my computer off after it has been running for two days straight and I turned it back on this morning and the noise did not start up right away. I started after about 30 minutes. I felt around the monitor and nothing felt to hot. It was slightly warm on the top but I imagine that is normal

Neither of mine make buzzing noises [or any noises at all for any matter]

But when I turn them off.
Once and awhile they'll make like a cracking/crackling noise.

I first heard it on my 32" LCD TV that's wall mounted.
It would always scare me becuase I thought my tv was going to fall off the wall.
but then when I got my 22" WS Monitor, I hear it do it on there after it's been on for extended periods as well.
so I guess that's normal o.O

I don't know if this makes a difference but I do have some speakers that are pretty close to it. They are less than a foot away. Could those be the cause of the noise?
