LCD monitor trouble

Greetings computer sages, I must lay some serious dope on you all. I bought my LCD monitor about 6 months ago, and a month ago it started to suck. The screen has many dark blotches all over, and it's very unpleasant to look at. They're like tiny shadowy circles around the edge of the screen, and I really hope there's a simple solution. I'd appreciate any input on this matter!

I would, but unfortunately I can't locate the receipt. I'll just use my old monitor, I guess. :gun:

you might need to reinstall your video card driver.

see if the problem goes away in safe mode. if it does then it has nothing to do with your monitor. your video card driver is corrupted in some way.

Any chance at some pictures? Could be a failing power/inverter board. Keep using it and if your screen goes blank then more than likely you had some capacitors fail in your computer. Are you running your monitor on 100% brightness?

Where did you buy the monitor from? This is one thing that I like about buying from NewEgg. They keep your receipts on file.
