i have my desktop hooked up to a 20" LCD tv by magnavox and i am having trouble raising my resolution past 640x480, when i go to the ati control panel it will change to 800x600 but from the display properties the slider for changing the resolution is locked, my card is a radeon x1600
also i found this readme http://www.p4c.philips.com/na4/2/20mf500t_17/20mf500t_17_pss_aen.pdf, this is the exact model of my tv it says the supported resolutions are 640x480 & 800x600, is there anything i can do to bypass this, drivers or anything???
also every time i try to view any kind of graphic or run a game it reverts back from when i set the resolution at 800x600 back to 640x480 HELP i dont know whats going on!!

When the resolution slider is greyed out that's a software problem with the catalyst control center seen there. Plus Windows may not have detected the tv fully being another reason why the adjuster isn't available.

That's the problem I ran into when trying to use a standard tv for s-video out trying to get something to display there and nothing. Even with the lcd monitor unplugged there was still no detection since Windows and the video card's catalyst still saw nothing.

I suspect you are running into this even with a newer lcd type tv over the cathode type here tried as a second display at the time. Aree you using digital, s-video, or some type of analog like RCA type plugin there?

You MUST use VGA, DVI, or Component if you want anything higher than 640x480(or sometimes 720x480) RCA and SVHS run at standard definition and must be converted from your computer's resolution.
