LCD responce time difference?

Is there a noticeable difference between 2 ms responce time on a LCD monitor and 6 ms?

i am into gaming somewhat and trying to figure stuff out.
I have a 22" LG 3000:1 contrast, 2ms responce. And i am thinking of trading it for a 24" Gateway witch is a bigger monitor but it has 1000:1 contrast, 6 ms responce.

I understand that for gaming my current monitor is better, but i want to get a feeling from someone that knows how much worse is it going to be is a change to 24"?

Here is my pc info.

windows vista
amd 4200+ dual core
2 gigs ddr2 ram
150 gig sata 10.000rpm HD
640MB 8800gts
850w power supply

You have an LG and planning on a what? Gateway? Give us a break! You would be moving from a good make and model with the fastest response time available for what? The 2" of viewing has to be weighed against the quality as well as the slight increase in response time. Eventually I'move out of one lcd here with a 12ms response time for an upgrade while you going to downgrade?

Keep your LG, that is stupid to go with a Gateway. Were you afraid that 8800 and that Raptor were going to suck a lotta power?

Seems i got my answer. Thanks for advise i think i'll be keeping this one. and intelcrazy are you talking about my powersuply lol? i got 850w cuz it was onsale for 100 bucks.

Whats a good/best mouse and keyboard for gaming like bf2142 and other shooter games?

For everything in general as well as gaming I can only add that everyone seems to have their own preferences there. While I use MS for both someone else may point at Logitech. Many now use cordless over corded mice and keyboards.
