LCD screen acting weird

This is on a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop, running windows 7. When using the computer it seems as if someone took a picture of the screen and left that up for a few seconds, or if I move the screen it will go back to normal and work fine for a little bit. When this happens everything still works and I can even see the mouse move so I dont think its a problem with memory. Like if I was typing a paper or IM it would still go as normal I could even surf the web if I memorized exactly where to click. So does anyone know whats going on?

try an external monitor and tell me if the problem still happens

I'm confused of what you're trying to say. Let's break it down:
[...]When using the computer it seems as if someone took a picture of the screen and left that up for a few seconds
So your screen is freezng?

, or if I move the screen it will go back to normal and work fine for a little bit

So if you move your laptop, the screen works again?

When this happens everything still works and I can even see the mouse move so I dont think its a problem with memory.
When what happens? When you move your laptop?
Like if I was typing a paper or IM it would still go as normal I could even surf the web if I memorized exactly where to click.
So the image on your laptop screen is freezing, but not your system?
So does anyone know whats going on?
Not yet

So, your saying your screen is freezing unless you move the laptop?

In that case, it must be a loose connection or something else in the monitor's hardware, since that doesn't seem to be a software issue.

If you want to fix it you'll have to take it to a shop, or open it up yourself and see if you can spot anything.
