LCD Smell?

For the past few days, i have been trying to find the smell coming from my computer.


I suspected that it was the power supply but the smell is going away.


Now, i found out another problem. When i moved the monitor closer to me (19" LCD widescreen), there was a smell. I think this happens when it becomes really hot.


I am not sure if there is anythign wrong with this.


Please help

have you cleaned your screen with any liquids?
there could still be remains of a cleaner on there and it is smelling when it gets hot.

Nope, I haven't cleaned my screen. It's like two weeks old.

its probably the smell of new plastic and stuff like alot of new things have when you buy em,my friends monitor still smells new,its a weird plastic-related smell in my opinion

btw, do these smells "either PSU or LCD monitor" affect our health?

I get headaches sometimes...

they could,seeing as how many of these things have chemicals in em or on em,best bet is to move your lcd further back and move your computer away from you

k, i m replacing my LCD and my PSU

God dam it i m annoyed.

Oh wow smells? hmm seems kinda scary, but yes it could be because it's new. I'd definitely ask someone else around you as well. It could be the new plastic, but you never now..
