LCD Vertical Cyan Line

Hey all, I have a new viewsonic LCD monitor (vg2230wm) which has developed a vertical cyan line. If I apply pressure on the line it will eventually go away. However, after a few minutes (or seconds) the line re-appears. Viewsonic customer product support has not been very helpful in resolving this and want me to send it to them and pay for shipping both ways .

Has anybody encountered this problem and how can I fix it? Appreciate any responses.

Well you can try a (recover dead pixel technique).

As you say when you apply pressure it will go away but only for a few minutes. This is a good sign I guess because you know the pixels are not dead.

Try this, im not sayin it will work but its worth a try...

1. boil the kettle and pour water into a cup
2. get a tea towel, kitchen cloth, old sock, what eva you can get hold of lol
3. locate the dead line on the monitor and turn monitor off.
4. get a pen (with out the middle bit in it !!!) and put the towel around it.
5. get it dam with the hot water but not soaking wet.
6. Apply firm pressure to the dead pixels/line on the monitor (with the monitor still off).
7. remove the pressure and dry any damp bits with a dry towel.
8. turn monitor on.
(keep doing this, it could take a while, I have used this method on lots of LCD monitors to recover dead pixels before and it works (even done a HD LCD TV)!

Not sayin it will work, but summin to try, but honnestly if its covered i`d just take it back.
