Learning C

I just bought C Programming A Beginner's Course, by Noel Kalicharan, to learn how to program.

I will be attending college for computer engineering this fall and would like a headstart in this field.

Where can I get a free complier(?) for windows XP/7 to start writing code and practicing? Thanks in advance

Oops, this post was meant for a programming forum. I clicked the wrong tab, but if any of you have good suggestions I would be happy to hear them.

I have a book called C Primer Plus, I thought it was pretty good. There should be lots of free compliers out there, I don't know if Bloodshed is still maintaining DevC++ or not, it was ok.

edit: moved to software, our programming threads are there.
