leave computer on all the time?

i just got my new dell inspiron 6000 notebook im just wondering if i should leave it on as much as possible? i heard that when you turn it on and off all the time it is hard on some of the hardware how much truth is there to this and what do you guys and gals recommend. i wont really take it anywhere so leaving it on isnt a problem for me. the only time i turn off my desktop is when there are storms.

We are well passed the day when stuff like that used to matter all too much, so dont worry about it

But laptops need good ventilation, ensure if you do leave it running that it is not going to overheat
