leaving PC on for long times......

Hey fellas I am downloading a couple of games from this site. However it says 8 days left!!! Now what I was wondering what are the negative effects on my rig if I leave my PC on for 8 days. Thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!

If CPU load is around 80% or higher for 8 days - it could overheat, but downloading shouldnt do that. Should work fine - just a little expensive on power.

It depends..most of the time is your computer cool? Also I left my computer on for a couple days when I was downloading programs and I left it in stand by mode. Everything worked out fine.

I've left my computer on for a VERY long time. I think the record now is about a month. It still works fine.

Stand By  . My PC shuts down when I select it. Not a total shut down but you know what I mean. You press the power button and it boots to desktop.

Everything looks ok. My cousin used to put a fan right to his pc to help cool it down. It wasent easy on the eye but it made some what of a difference.
