I've searched for the answer and tried the suggestions but mine seems unique (everyone seems to say that !).
My Levovo G500s froze, so I turned it off and now I get a black screen with the grey taskbar/toolbar across the bottom (but its empty). The screen works perfectly at sign in but as soon as it loads (windows ?) after sign in, the screen is black with a grey taskbar at the bottom and nothing seems to work.
After reading a little, I've tried:
> Plugging into my TV - The same black screen with the blank taskbar appears but again works perfect at sign in stage.
> Unplug from the mains, take out battery and hold finger on the off button for a min of 30 secs - To be honest, not sure if this was a wind up when I read it but had nothing to loose. Doesn't work
I use the laptop for my studying and I have an exam soon, bad timing :-(
