So I have been looking into getting a new computer considering that my old one died off
I have ABOUT a $450 budget, possibly growing... but I have been looking around for pre-built computers, then figured what of it? might as well build my own, right? I found this neat little website with all these tips on buying and building, and they had this computer for 558 bucks
Motherboard
ASUS M5A97 AMD 9 Series ($100)
CPU
AMD Phenom II X6 1045T ($140)
RAM
Corsair 4GB DDR3 (1333 Mhz) ($25)
Video Card
EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti SuperClocked (1GB) ($125)
Hard Drive
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB ($60)
Optical Drive
Lite-On Internal DVD Writer ($18)
Case
Cooler Master RC-430-KWN1 Elite 430 ($50)
Power Supply
Cooler Master Elite Series 460 Watts ($40)
Let me clarify the purpose of this computer. I do game some... I don't do like gamer chair-3 screens-battlefield 3 on max + 1 settings, but I do some gaming. I probably would do a little more if I had a better computer ^^... But I also am getting into programming, which is what I am going to be going to college for once I finish high school. I am looking for a computer that can really get the job done with games AND work without giving me problems :c something reliable. I'm not sure where I could knock a few bucks off this build, but I was thinking going for a quad core processor would be better and maybe a different choice of video cards. Again-- I don't need to play skyrim on LIFE settings... but watching 1080p videos or playing HD games shouldn't give me problems. From what I understand, you don't need a $200 video card to go from onboardgraphic low to high settings in most games
Thanks for all the help!
OH!
And by the way... I know it's missing a few things. I MIGHT have a 19" monitor and a decent but not very well ventilated case coming from my bro in law who switched to laptops. As for wifi, I have a crapy 54Mbps USB adapter that will suffice until I can recover from lackofmoney-idous.
