LG External Writer good?

Im thinking of buying this External DVD-RW drive,reason been if tried diffrent internal drives in my system and all of them are either noisy or make the case rattle.

Would you guys give this drive the thumbs up?

Seems the reviews are good,But who knows those could have been written by ebuyer themselves!
 
It's hard to find a bad external really. Maybe a "meh" one, but not a bad one.

That one should be fine.

I have read LG makes the only reliable internal bluray readers, so I would say it's probably good build quality.

Also, I had an external lite-on burner a good 5 years ago and it only lasted a couple of years with rare usage.

An external DVD-RW is great but I would still recommed an Internal DVD-RW. There is a big difference of connecting with a SATA cable and a USB cable. But it will still be your final choice to make.

Nev - Have you ever tried the Sony Optiarc dvd drive? If not I highly recommend it. The most quiet drive I have ever owned or listened to.
 
Id never buy Sony drive again mate...i dont think it was a Optiarc,it might have been a diffrent one but i purchased a Sony DVD-RW drive,It failed within a month....got RMA,d a new one...same thing with the new one exept sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldnt!

Im still rocking on a old IDE Lite-On drive here atm because of this,But its been very reliable....its noisy though lol.
 
Just get an internal SATA dvd drive. they are faster and not as noisy if you get a newer model. just look up some reviews.
