Lg make great monitors. The spec sheet is pretty tight, only problem would be, if you can call it that, is that it's 4:3 and not widescreen.

What's the price?

I 2nd the LG making great monitors statement. Now for the pros and cons, depends on what you're using the monitor for.

The screen isn't decidedly larger, with widescreen, simply owns a better screen real estate. Field of view is much better on a widescreen in games and HD movies tend to fit better on the screen.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that generally humans tend to have a better side-side peripheral vision, opposed to up and down. It's actually easier on the eyes.
