I just bought a Refurbished HP 5550dn Colour Printer, I printed off some sample prints, and I see that there are light horizontal black lines, the light black lines can only been seen when printing off colour prints. The lines only appear at the middle and lower part of the print, the top is fine. Is there anything I can clean?

there are three main black lines, the distance between the lines are aprox 2 inches apart

also on the display screen (toner amounts) it shows a ? on the far right side corresponding to the blue toner

Either your blue cartridge has failed or it is getting low on ink. As far as the lines go, it could be the printhead if a laser printer even has one. Try the cleaning utilities and see if the print improves. I would probably make get a new blue cartridge though.

I decided to take out the blue Tonner, and carefully slide back the drum cover, there is alot of blue powder on the drum. The rest of the Tonners look clean and smooth, But the blue one looks a mess. Im wondering if I can blow on the drum to get the powder off, it says do not touch the drum. Its possible the blue tonner was damaged while being shipped to me. The Printer is very heavy, it took 3 of us just to walk it in the house, also something could have happen then while moving it from the delivery van into the house :(

New toner came today. Fixed now. So if your getting any horizontal lines first thing to do is check your toner level, thats the cheapest solution to check first.
